Les Gets is a traditional Haute-Savoie village and one of the most family-friendly bases in the Portes du Soleil. The village sits at 1,172 m and gives skiers access to the 120 km Les Gets–Morzine area, with terrain spread across the Chavannes and Mont Chéry sectors. Chavannes is the main link towards Morzine and the wider Portes du Soleil, while Mont Chéry is known for a quieter feel, stronger red and black terrain and wide views towards Mont Blanc.
A local Les Gets–Morzine pass is enough for 120 km of skiing, while a Portes du Soleil pass opens up more than 600 km of linked pistes across 12 French and Swiss resorts. Les Gets is particularly strong for beginners, families and intermediates: there are dedicated learning areas, child-friendly zones and plenty of accessible cruising. More confident skiers can add variety on Mont Chéry or travel further through the cross-border ski domain.
Geneva Airport is the main international gateway. Official Les Gets travel information places the resort about 82 km from Geneva, with a road journey of roughly 1 hour 10 minutes in good conditions; winter traffic and snow can make transfers longer. Cluses is the nearest main railway station, around 30 minutes away by road. The trade-off is altitude: Les Gets is lower than the highest Portes du Soleil resorts, so lower pistes can be more sensitive to mild weather, particularly early or late in the season. For families and mixed groups prioritising village atmosphere, easy logistics and a very large ski network, it remains a strong all-round choice.
