Châtel

Châtel is a popular French village resort in the Portes du Soleil, close to the Swiss border and well placed for cross-border ski routes. It has a more traditional feel than Avoriaz, with strong appeal for families, intermediates and groups who want village character as well as big-area skiing. It is a useful addition for SNOW EXP because it expands Portes du Soleil comparisons beyond Avoriaz, Morzine and Les Gets.

Large linked ski area, traditional village feel, family appeal and straightforward Geneva transfer.

Not as snow-sure as Avoriaz and some links can depend on lower-level conditions.
