Champéry gives Switzerland-side access to the vast Portes du Soleil ski area, making it a useful counterpart to French bases such as Avoriaz and Morzine. The village has a traditional alpine feel, scenic setting and strong cross-border appeal. It suits intermediates and mixed groups who want big-area mileage while staying on the Swiss side of the domain.
