Schladming is a major Austrian ski base in Styria and one of the best-known names in Ski amadé. The linked four-mountain ski area gives strong mileage for intermediates, while the town has plenty of life, restaurants and après without feeling as extreme as resorts like Ischgl or St Anton. It is a very useful addition for SNOW EXP because it gives Austria coverage beyond Tyrol and Salzburg, with practical access from Salzburg, Graz and Munich.
Excellent all-round resort, good town atmosphere, strong lift system and wide intermediate appeal.
Lower altitude than Austria’s glacier resorts, so snow reliability can depend more on conditions lower down.
