Montréal–Trudeau International Airport (YUL) is Québec’s main international gateway for ski trips, combining a large flight network with practical onward transport towards the Laurentians and Eastern Townships. Its strongest ski advantage is choice: travellers can use direct resort coaches, regional shuttles, rental cars or private transfers depending on the final mountain. YUL is therefore especially useful for visitors who want to compare several Québec ski areas from one well-connected arrival point.
Mont-Tremblant is the airport’s clearest major-resort connection. Tremblant describes Montréal–Trudeau as Québec’s main air gateway and places the resort about 90 minutes from Montréal by road. More importantly for air travellers, the current 2026/27 winter timetable includes direct coaches from YUL to Tremblant Resort. Scheduled journeys leave the airport and reach the resort in about two hours, with extra departures on weekends. The timetable can change, so travellers should still confirm the operating date before booking flights around the coach.
YUL also works well for the Eastern Townships. Montréal–Trudeau currently lists Aeroshuttle as a specialist regional carrier serving Bromont, Granby, Magog/Orford and Sherbrooke-area destinations. Bromont itself is about 85 km and 55 minutes from Montréal and is one of Québec’s major night-skiing destinations. This gives travellers a useful alternative to the Laurentians, particularly when a shorter city-to-mountain route or an Eastern Townships itinerary fits the trip better.
For maximum flexibility, car hire remains straightforward. Montréal–Trudeau’s rental counters are currently located in the P4 car park, reached from the arrivals level by a free airport shuttle. Taxis, limousines and other regional transport services are also available, while the 747 bus provides 24-hour public transport between YUL and central Montréal for travellers continuing by city coach or rail.
YUL is therefore strongest as a high-connectivity Québec ski gateway rather than the closest airport to every resort. For Mont-Tremblant, Bromont and other Laurentian or Eastern Townships ski areas, its combination of international flights and multiple ground-transport choices makes it one of the most practical starting points in eastern Canada.
