Québec City Jean Lesage International Airport (YQB) is one of the most useful gateways for ski trips in eastern Québec. Its biggest advantage is proximity to several established ski areas around Québec City and Charlevoix, allowing travellers to reach the mountains without first crossing Montréal. YQB is compact, easy to navigate and well supplied with rental cars, taxis, Uber, Lyft and city buses, making it a practical starting point for both single-resort and multi-resort winter trips.
Mont-Sainte-Anne is one of the clearest ski routes from YQB. Côte-de-Beaupré tourism places the Mont-Sainte-Anne region about 40 minutes from Québec City Jean Lesage International Airport, while Visit Québec City puts the ski area around 30 minutes from Québec City itself. The mountain has 71 trails, three skiable faces and a 625-metre vertical drop. There is no regular direct public-transport service from the airport to Mont-Sainte-Anne, so a rental car, taxi or pre-booked private transfer is normally the simplest airport-to-resort option.
Stoneham is another strong choice for a shorter Québec City ski stay. Visit Québec City places the resort about 20 minutes from downtown, with 43 trails and extensive night skiing. Its position north of the city makes it especially useful for travellers who want to combine skiing with time in Québec City rather than stay entirely in a mountain village.
Le Massif de Charlevoix is farther east but remains highly relevant from YQB. The mountain is known for a 770-metre vertical drop and views over the St. Lawrence River, making the longer transfer worthwhile for many ski trips.
At YQB, Avis, Budget, Enterprise, Hertz, National and Thrifty currently operate rental desks, while RTC routes 76 and 80 connect the airport with Sainte-Foy and central Québec City. For resort travel, however, a car or private transfer is usually the most flexible choice. Overall, YQB is strongest for Mont-Sainte-Anne, Stoneham, Le Massif and wider Québec City ski itineraries where its regional location can substantially reduce onward travel.
