From Dentetsu Toyama Station, the Toyama Chihō Railway reaches Tateyama Station in roughly 50–60 minutes. A winter-only ski bus then links Tateyama Station with Raicho Valley, Awasuno and Gokurakuzaka, with the Gokurakuzaka journey taking about 20 minutes. Travellers should check the current winter bus timetable before relying on a particular departure.
Ushidake Onsen Ski Resort is another strong local option. The resort lies south-west of Toyama city and offers a broad 2,000-metre central slope, night skiing and views across the Toyama Plain, Toyama Bay and the Tateyama range. Official tourism information gives public transport from Toyama Station at about 50 minutes by local bus to the Yamada area, followed by roughly 10 minutes on the community bus. A rental car is generally simpler when travelling with ski equipment or combining Ushidake with other areas.
Farther west, IOX-AROSA adds another useful Toyama ski option. The resort caters for beginners through advanced skiers and is around 10 minutes by car from Fukuhikari Station or 15 minutes from the Fukuhikari Interchange. It is best suited to travellers using a rental car or building a broader Toyama and western Hokuriku itinerary.

Overall, Toyama Airport is strongest for travellers specifically targeting Toyama’s own ski areas, where its regional location can provide a more direct start than routing through Tokyo or another distant hub.
