Courmayeur sits on the Italian side of Mont Blanc and is one of the best-known ski resorts in the Aosta Valley. It is especially strong for confident intermediates, scenic mountain lunches and a more characterful alternative to purpose-built resorts. The ski area is not the largest in Italy, but the setting, food and mountain atmosphere make it a high-value choice for skiers who want a proper alpine town as well as memorable pistes.
Beautiful setting, strong food scene, stylish town, good for confident intermediates and non-skiers.
Ski area is smaller than mega-resorts and beginner terrain is more limited.
